Sarah’s Pretty House

The house had everything we could possibly need for a week’s holiday. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen very well equipped. Outside was a dream! The pool was an amazing bonus, as the heat wave had really set in when we were there. We ate every meal on the pretty, shady terrace and spent many nice evenings by the pool. It was ideally situated to explore the region’s bastide towns and markets, but it was a pleasure to come home to the peaceful hamlet and a lovely swim at the end of a hot day.

Quirky and comfortable

This cottage is well situated for discovering the wonderful Bastide towns in the Dordogne. It is probably more suited to the younger generations as access to the upstairs bedrooms is negotiated by a steepish staircase through what appears to be an enlarged loft hatch with a child’s stair gate at the top. There are beams to duck under so agility is required – all in our party were a bit creaky! However, the lounge is comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, the ground floor bedroom very spacious and beds/pillows comfortable. The twin bedroom upstairs is suitable for two children and the double bedroom is spacious and comfortable. The upstairs bathroom is large also, with a multi-faceted shower that has water coming from several directions! We loved eating outside on the covered terrace. The swimming pool is a good size and large enough to have a good swim to cool down. It has a cover to help retain the heat at night. The owners had left a comprehensive guide to the area which was most helpful. The Sky TV was a bonus – it meant we didn’t miss The Bodyguard! The Internet signal was better than at home. It was a successful holiday and we enjoyed our stay. Thank you to Sarah and Gerry.

Wonderful Property in Authentic Rural France

PROPERTY: This is a lovely property located in a scenic quiet hamlet just a very short distance from a thriving quaint French village. The house is well appointed and has very much been set up as a “home from home”. The kitchen has everything you would need from extensive matching crockery and glasses to accommodate every drink type to plenty of pots pans, utensils and big presentation dishes. The beds are comfortable and all of the furniture is of an excellent standard. Everything works in this house, wifi, TV, DVD, appliances and there are 2 fridge freezers to store plenty of the great local Rose wine!

It is a beautiful place to spend time with a comfy living space, sheltered veranda at the back of the property and a beautiful deck beside the pool with comfy sofas. The whole place was very clean and well maintained to a high standard.

LOCATION: Close to Beaumont du Perigord (5 min drive), it is a lovely setting, private and quiet with nice surrounding properties. Although Beaumont is a small village/ town it has a thriving atmosphere with plenty going on, music events, markets and local amenities as well as a larger Intermarche on the outskirts which has everything you could possibly need.

OWNER: Sarah provided prompt and helpful responses to any questions we had prior to booking the property. She was also excellent in providing hints and tips for enjoying our stay and getting the most out of our visit.

RECOMMENDATION: I would thoroughly recommend booking this property to friends or relatives. We are a family of 5 and this was perfect for all our needs. The house and pool are great, the location and area are beautiful and dealing with the owner has been easy and a pleasure. What’s not to love!

A Charming House in a Lovely Quiet Spot

As part of a trip through the length of France four of us, two couples in our seventies, spent a week at the house. The facilities are excellent including a good size pool with first class pool side lounging kit. Nearby Beaumont, five minutes in the car, is a delightful place as is Bergerac only half an hour away. We had a super time mixing laying around with visiting fine Bastide towns in the area. There are good restaurants in the area and all reasonably priced. The whole stay was first class. The owner takes great care and pride in the house.
